The Humane Society for Boone County is a private not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization almost entirely volunteer operated and dedicated to the task of animal welfare, rescue and education in Boone County, Indiana. The shelter operates through a network of generous donors, volunteers and foster families.
HSforBC has no powers to act as animal control, but will work in conjunction with law enforcement as requested. Found/stray animals are advertised and held for a minimum of 7 days. Animals that are not claimed will be brought up-to-date with vaccinations, microchipped, altered and become available for adoption. |
