HSFBC Sends Help to Tornado Victims
The Humane Society for Boone County would like to thank the friends of HSforBC and the following businesses for donating food and much needed medical supplies to J B Ogle and Clark County Humane Society in southern Indiana. Their buildings were not damaged but they are taking in displaced pets and strays from the tornados earlier this month. The donated food will be used to stock their Pet Pantry which provides assistance to families while they rebuild their homes. Thank you to Jerry's Feed and all that dropped off food at Jerrys, Pamida Distribution, Wal-Mart, Beltway Surgery Center, and the volunteers who helped pull this together, especially Bruce and Dawn Jarrett for delivering the items to JB Ogle Humane Shelter.

One of HSforBC's currently available pets:
CatsHarvestDomestic Long Hair Brown Tabby
About 1-2 yrs old, neutered male; up to date on vaccines. Harvest has an outgoing, friendly personality and looks very lion-like with his regal face and ruff of fur around his head; he is actually small, around 6 lbs., but looks bigger because of his fluffy coat. He is really gorgeous! Harvest was found in a local park, apparently abandoned with 4 other kitties of similar appearance and age [perhaps litter mates?]; they were all huddled together for several hours before a Good Samaritan rescued them. They apparently were not used to being outside, since they stayed together in one spot for so long, and they are all learning to adjust to new surroundings. Based on their timid behavior, it seems that they have not been out much in the world or around very many different people, but all are affectionate and love being petted.
